"Красная корова" ("MAD COW")

MAD COW creative session

A creative session of a full-feature film 'Mad cow' took place in Moscow.

In January and February 2008 Jamie Bradshaw (director, producer),Alexander Doulerain (director, producer), Robert Grasmere (visual effects supervisor), Yuri Kharikov (artist-consultant), and Anastasia Nefedova (production designer, costumes designer) had a series of intensive creative meetings. They were dedicated to careful reading and detailed analysis of the script, conversation on artists' and production designers' work, production of storyboards and discussion, of visual effects of the film.

Mad Cow

Camera moves out showing more and more glittering stars. A thin white line connects them, thus forming a “constellation” in a shape of a cow. The cow “revives” and moos to the camera. The mooing sound transforms into the sound of thunder. A flash of lightning. Title of the film…

“MIRUMIR” starts a co-production of an American-Russian full length feature “The Mad Cow”. This high-budget extravagant blockbuster has two co-authors directors. Jamie Bradshaw (American) and Alexander Doulerain (Russian), who is broadly known to Russian audience with his film “Ivan the Fool” and a TV series “The Bin or Scientists Underground”, has long formed a bright and solid tandem, making a number of short-feature films with a renowned festival history. The story of a crisis in the global marketing system is told by the co-authors (who are well-informed about this topic) with enormous scale, which has no precedents in Russian cinema, with elegant emphasis on religious mysticism and with lambent sense of humor. Unique visual effects will be made especially for this project under the supervision of Robert Grasmere (The Saint). Rogier Stoffers (Disturbia) will do the work of Director of Photography. American sound designers are being invited to collaborate with “MIRUMIR” in this film. Breathtaking artwork for “The Mad Cow” was created by Yuri Kharikov, laureate of numerous theatrical premiums, who worked on such films as “Moscow” and “Euphoria”. Production designer of the project isAnastasia Nefedova.

In the nearest future a backstage guru of the international marketing network will have to launch a cruel and highly manipulative advertising campaign, which will inveigle the main characters of the film along with the whole bewitched population of our planet. But every earthly backstage is an open scene in comparison to the really masked and inaccessible for a human eye heavenly scenarios. Every global network is just a line of knots in the texture of divine intentions. Genuine historic radical turns still happen in the righteous consciousness of a warrior seeing the true light. In the Bradshaw and Dulerain’s film this dangerous mission has to be accomplished by a marketing director Misha Galkin, who has enough courage to start a fight with unequal chances against the monsters of commercials business. Mystic comedy, “The Mad Cow” will let us witness the unbelievable global battle of the main brands.
